What Does $400,000 Buy You? (Part 4)

We're now four parts into this series, and we've had a chance to see what's out there in three amazing suburbs surrounding Vancouver. In this post, we head over the bridge to the North Shore, and examine North Vancouver and West Vancouver.

Part 4

The north shore: north vancouver & west vancouver

Surrounded by mountains and water, North and West Vancouver are highly coveted and offer some of the most premium places to live in the entire Lower Mainland. Amidst this natural environment, 140,000 people have found homes and are often lifelong residents of the area. Highlighted by the beach at Ambleside Park, hiking, biking, and winter sports grounds at Mount Seymour, Grouse Mountain and Cypress Mountain, these regions offer 365-day outdoor lifestyles for all. There are plenty of shopping options at Capilano Mall or the sprawling Park Royal centre. While not normally recognized for its affordability, you may find yourself surprised at how possible it is to live in these great locations.

Here is what the North Shore has to Offer:

A meticulously maintained home can be found right next to the Seymour Golf Course and just minutes from serene Deep Cove. With 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, this place is perfect as a starter home or for down-sizers. Bright and spacious, this property feels larger than the impressive 900 square feet it has to offer. An enclosed solarium is perfect for family meals. The building features an exercise centre and a communal barbecue, and has walking trails just outside your door.

Modern and classy, this top floor one bed home is perfect for a first time buyer. Filled with natural light, you'll enjoy the many amazing features of this unit. Air-conditioning, in-floor heating, 10 foot ceilings, quartz countertops, and 1 parking stall all come in this 2 year old boutique concrete build. Just minutes to Capilano Mall, you'll have the location and lifestyle to work and play.

Views of the mountains and steps to the amazing Ambleside Park, the West Vancouver lifestyle is within reach. A well maintained one bed home offers an open layout for your ideas and design. No shortage of space in the bedroom or living room, plus your own personal 75 square foot balcony. The building features an indoor swimming pool as well as an outdoor tennis court that will have you enjoying your exercise year-round. Bonus: take in the view from the stunning rooftop deck!

Another option buyers have to get into the market at a comfortable price point and one that enables more flexible payment schedules are pre-sales (see my previous post about pre-sales here).

Once again, thank you for exploring the under $400,000 price bracket with me. Not many expect it, but the luxurious and natural North Shore is achievable at this price point. If you have any questions about these or any other properties, or wish to discuss other real estate opportunities, feel free to email me at adil@adilkhimani.com.

The next edition of "What Does $400,000 Buy You", we'll feature one of the largest cities in the Lower Mainland - Richmond.

All the best,

Adil
